Big boy Company number 4000. Big Boy by Fine Art Models The locomotive is in perfect condition. The metal steam locomotive weighs around 16 kg and is equipped with 2 Pittman 12V motors.

It has 24 lamps in its entirety and is 844.5mm long. The tender weighs 3.6kg and is 387.5mm long. The original wooden box is included and weighs 15.4 kg.

An absolutely rare collector's item in gauge 1. To honor this project, Bill Kratville of the Union Pacific Museum arranged for us to visit the UP Steam Team in Cheyenne. This team graciously hosted us as we scanned more than two thousand original ink-on-canvas engineering drawings.

The Union Pacific Historical Society was immediately interested in our approach, bought our scanner and today their volunteers, led by steam locomotive engineer Bob Krieger, are scanning thousands more drawings. In addition to this collaboration, Fine Art Models engaged author (The History of the Union Pacific Railroad in Cheyenne), historian and modeling expert Robert Darwin to provide advice to ensure the absolute accuracy of every detail of our Big Boy model. We are convinced that this is the best steam locomotive model ever built and that it will become the benchmark for all future generations of model makers.

The Big Boy locomotive features a patented sound system, large Pittman twin motors, ball bearings at Allen moving points and a complete back end with scale gauges. All doors, hatches and inspection panels that open on the real locomotive also open on the model. The article is subject to differential taxation in accordance with Section 25a. Fine Art Models built both the 4884-1 and 4884-2, both original and modified.
